Sania, with 915 points, is now perched at 29th spot.
In doubles, Sania also moved up one place to be 25th with 1321 points. The Hyderabadi and her American partner Bethanie Mattek's quarter-final feat at East West Bank Classic was good enough a performance to improve her doubles ranking.
